Part-Time Summer Records and Document Management Assistant

Part‑Time Summer Records and Document Management Assistants The Part‑Time Summer Records and Document Management Assistants will work as part of a team to review, organize, scan, index, upload, retain, and dispose of business records in accordance with company policies and government records management requirements. This position is ideal for students, recent graduates, or individuals seeking experience in office administration, records management, information governance, or government contracting environments. Essential Functions Review physical files and documents for completeness and proper classification Sort, organize, and prepare documents for scanning and electronic storage Scan paper records using document imaging equipment Upload electronic files to Microsoft SharePoint and ensure proper file naming and indexing Verify scanned documents for accuracy and quality control Apply records retention schedules and assist with document disposition activities Label, archive, store, or securely dispose of records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive and proprietary information Track project progress and maintain records inventories Assist with general administrative and records management tasks as assigned Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines Competencies Excellent organizational skills Strong attention to detail Time management skills Teamwork and collaboration skills Data entry accuracy Professional communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. It routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly Frequently moves standard office equipment up to 25 pounds Must be able to work indoor conditions 90% of the time Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part‑time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel No travel Experience Must be at least 16 years of age Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications Ability to learn Microsoft SharePoint Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Ability to follow written procedures and instructions Reliable attendance and punctuality Education N/A Additional Eligibility Qualifications Previous office, clerical, administrative, or records management experience Familiarity with scanning equipment and electronic document management systems Interest in government operations, records management, business administration, or information technology Security Clearance N/A Compensation And Benefits The expected compensation range for this position is $18.00-$19.00 per hour negotiable depending upon education and experience.
