Real Estate Sr. Accountant/Controller

Sr. Accountant / Controller with Real Estate experience a must!PrideStaff is seeking a Sr. Accountant /Controller on behalf of a prominent real estate development and management firm based in West Palm Beach.This is a key financial leadership position overseeing a multi-entity portfolio of residential and commercial assets. You will take ownership of all accounting, treasury, HR/payroll, and insurance functions, taking over from an outgoing CFO through a structured transition period before managing the department independently.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting: Lead monthly closes, intercompany allocations, annual operating budgets, capex planning, and quarterly/annual reporting packages for lenders and partners.Cash Flow & Treasury: Produce monthly cash flow reports across all assets, monitor daily bank balances, handle ACH/wires, perform daily/monthly reconciliations, and manage banking relationships.Insurance Program Management: Drive insurance renewals 60–45 days out, negotiate premiums with brokers/carriers, track property/wind insurance, allocate blanket premiums, and manage claims.HR & Payroll: Process biweekly payroll (ADP), handle employee onboarding/benefits, reconcile payroll to the general ledger, and ensure wage-and-hour compliance.Lender & HUD Compliance: Prepare construction draw requests, track loan covenants, and oversee HUD regulatory compliance (including bi-annual surplus cash reports).Tax & Audit Prep: Prepare year-end audit schedules (PBC list), coordinate with external CPAs, and manage property/entity tax filing deadlines across states.QualificationsExperience: Proven track record in multi-entity real estate accounting, construction, or property management.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP (or similar payroll systems), and GAAP standards.Key Strengths: Experience with insurance administration, cash flow management, draw requests, and lender compliance.Work Style: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to balance strict deadlines across multiple entities.Location: Must be local to or able to commute daily to West Palm Beach, FL.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $115,000 / yearHealth & Wellness: $3,600 annual health insurance reimbursement ($300/month)Paid Time Off (PTO): Prorated after 3 months; 10 full days after your first complete yearCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $110,000.00 - $120,000.00Job SummaryJob number: 589541Profession: Other
