Registered Nurse In Emergency RoomJob Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (11:00 AM - 11:00 PM) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Experience with Epic charting system, 2 weekend shifts per contract, Previous Charge Experience preferred Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Emergency Room. The shift available is from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications are required at the time of submission. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse will handle a variety of patient issues, including but not limited to abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma management, drug overdose, and respiratory infections. The nurse will be responsible for managing ventilated patients, administering emergency medications, and conducting procedural sedation monitoring. Experience in trauma care and emergency medicine is crucial. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically four patients per nurse during the day. Floating to like units may be necessary based on facility needs. Travelers will receive a brief orientation on the unit. The daily census is approximately 100 patients. Candidates should be prepared to manage a diverse set of patient diagnoses and procedures. Interdisciplinary support services are available for patients as needed. Travelers are expected to follow all facility protocols and guidelines.
