Job Description Starting Date: Jul 7, 2026 10 months, 8 hours/day Grade 11, $15.15/hour Non-Interim Position Dates: 7/7/2026 - 6/4/2027 Purpose Statement The job of Clerk II is to greet and direct visitors, respond to inquiries from staff, the public, parents, students, and other parties, provide clerical support to administrative personnel, and provide requested information and/or referral to other parties. This position reports to the Building Principal. Essential Functions Answer the telephone system to screen calls, transfer calls, respond to inquiries, take messages, and email messages. Coordinate a variety of projects, functions and program components (e.g., meetings, Read Across America program, substitute coverage, peer mediation schedules) to complete activities and deliver services in a timely manner. Greet individuals entering the building (visitors, parents, students, vendors) to respond to inquiries and direct them to the appropriate location in accordance with established building security procedures. Input data into commercial and customized databases (attendance, scheduling, employee parking, transcripts) to ensure data accuracy. Maintain a wide variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records (absence reports, counselor schedules) to provide up‑to‑date information and/or historical reference in accordance with administrative guidelines and legal requirements. Perform general clerical functions (copying, faxing, data entry, filing) to support office operations. Schedule a wide variety of activities (appointments, building use, bus and van usage) to make necessary arrangements for assigned administrators and supervisors. Distribute items within the site (mail, discipline notes, special delivery and overnight mail/packages, messages) to ensure receipt by the addressee. Receive a variety of items (mail, special deliveries, packages, supplies) for the purpose of distributing materials to appropriate parties. Other Functions Maintain reception area materials to provide resource information to visitors and perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Skills: prepare and maintain accurate records; operate standard office equipment; utilize pertinent software applications; provide customer service; screen telephone calls. Knowledge: basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; understand written and oral instructions; business telephone etiquette; office practices; record keeping and record retention practices. Ability: schedule activities and/or meetings; gather, collate, and classify data; use basic job‑related equipment; work flexibly with others; adapt to changing priorities; manage frequent interruptions; communicate with diverse groups; display tact and courtesy; organize tasks. Responsibility Work with immediate supervision; provide information and/or advice to others; utilize resources from other work units as needed; have some opportunity to influence organization services. Work Environment Physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; fine finger dexterity. Percent of time: 85% sitting, 10% walking, 5% standing. Work performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Experience: Job‑related experience is required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Clearances Criminal Background Clearance and Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
