This role focuses on assembling products using hand and power tools, ensuring all components are accurately positioned, aligned, and fastened into assemblies, subassemblies, or frames. You will interpret job orders, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and use production systems to complete work safely, efficiently, and to specification. The position requires careful inspection of completed units to meet customer requirements, along with flexibility to support additional projects and duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assemble products using hand and power tools to position, align, and fasten parts and units into assemblies, subassemblies, or frames.
- Install wire labels and device tags, working accurately with different labeling styles.
- Review and interpret job orders to understand production requirements and specifications.
- Interact with the Epicor system by correctly badging in and out of active job orders on the production floor.
- Follow and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to safely and properly operate all required equipment and tools.
- Check completed units to verify they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
- Visually inspect components and sub-assemblies throughout the assembly process to ensure quality and compliance.
- Use tape measures and basic measurement tools to confirm accurate dimensions and fit of parts.
- Apply a basic understanding of schematics, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly when building and wiring products.
- Identify and correctly use different wire gauges, colors, and ampacities during electrical assembly tasks.
- Consider NEMA ratings of enclosures and apply a limited understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and circuit breakers as needed during assembly.
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness in completing work assignments to meet production goals.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly or production issues.
- Adhere to all safety and PPE requirements, including eye, hand, and foot protection, while performing all job duties.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned to support overall production needs.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and plant directives in English.
- Ability to safely operate machines and use hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly.
- Ability to visually inspect components, sub-assemblies, and completed units for quality and compliance.
- Capability to stand for long periods of time during the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to effectively use a tape measure and perform simple mathematics.
- Basic understanding of schematics, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.
- Limited understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and circuit breakers.
- Understanding of NEMA ratings of enclosures and the differences between them.
- Knowledge of identifying wire gauges, wire colors, and understanding ampacities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with general production and assembly processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating, troubleshooting, and problem solving with coworkers.
- Ability to adhere to all PPE requirements, including eye, hand, and foot protection, to perform the job safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electrical wiring and electrical assembly work.
- Experience with mechanical assembly and general labor in a production setting.
- Familiarity with electronic assembly and basic electronics.
- Experience using hand and power tools for assembly tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Comfort using measurement tools such as tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Experience working with production systems such as Epicor or similar manufacturing software.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Willingness and ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Comfort with frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

Work Environment
The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled production facility designed for comfort and safety. Team members work on the manufacturing floor using hand and power tools, measurement devices, and production systems such as Epicor. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye, hand, and foot protection, is required and must be worn at all times while performing job duties. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
