Job Description \n JOB TITLE : Interventional Radiologic Technologist \n \n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : \n Provide assistance to the clinical team ensuring surgical schedule is followed, setting up sterile surgical tray, assisting the Medical Director with surgical cases, managing and storing patient radiographic images. As a member of our team, you will interact with patients, physicians and dialysis facilities as part of our community educational program. \n \n \n SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Physician/Chief of the Medical Facility \n \n EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE : \n \n * Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures \n * Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician \n * Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation \n * Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, \n * portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure \n * factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy \n * Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff \n * Participates in monthly radiation safety meetings \n * Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures. \n * Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations \n * Works alongside Medical Director during procedures by scrubbing and assisting with surgery \n * Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician \n * Obtains and saves images during procedures \n * Monitors patients during procedures, operating a C-Arm (within the scope of practice) \n * Manages, appropriately names and uploads procedural images to directory \n * Prepares equipment which includes cleaning and sterilizing instruments \n * Maintains inventory of medical supply par levels while working with Medical Director and Purchasing \n * Manager \n * Performs end of month supply counts \n * Ensure the confidentiality of all user names/passwords assigned to you; ensure these are not shared with any \n * other employees or third parties. \n * Perform all job functions and employee duties to the highest level of confidentiality ensuring PHI (including \n * electronic) is not compromised. \n * Employee will have access to the applicable PVG network and software solutions relative to the position. \n * Compliance with an adverse incident reporting system. \n \n KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED : \n Knowledge of modern radiologic equipment and techniques; regional and gross anatomy of the human body; standardized radiologic clinical procedures; thorough knowledge of the hazards of radiologic materials and the safety precautions required; the operation and care of modern radiologic equipment; and the ordering and storing of supplies. \n \n EDUCATION : (include any licenses or certifications required) \n \n * High school diploma or the equivalent. \n * Possession of a current valid certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the State Department of Health Services. \n * Two years of experience, including training in radiologic techniques and methods, under an accredited medical radiologist.
