CNC Machine Operator – Northwest Houston Area

Schedule: Full-time; Experience: 5+ years preferred; Environment: Manufacturing / Machine Shop

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator responsible for reading blueprints, programming CNC machines, performing set-ups, and ensuring high-quality production output. This role requires strong technical knowledge, precision, and the ability to lead 2–3 operators while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Schedule - Monday - Friday 8A - PM some OT

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate machine controls, load parts, and prove programs
• Inspect finished parts for quality and conformance
• Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts
• Determine dimensions, tolerances, sequences of operations, and set-up requirements
• Meet or exceed daily production rates
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment
• Stand for at least 8 hours per shift
• Lead 2–3 operators to ensure productivity and quality
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience preferred in CNC lathe and CNC vertical mill set-ups
• Ability to read and edit G-code
• Skilled in precision measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, indicators, scales
• Strong blueprint reading and geometric tolerance interpretation
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and machine accessories
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Adaptable to changing environments, shifting priorities, and unexpected events
• Strong math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, algebra
• CNC programming required
• Experience with Mastercam, Haas, Okuma, Mazak is a plus
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and work safely around moving machinery
