CNC Lathe Machinist

About the Job Location: Houston, TX 77040 Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay: DOE (Depending on Experience) Employment Type: Full-Time Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a fast-paced machine shop in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of CNC lathe experience and be able to independently set up, program, and operate Y-axis CNC lathes using HAAS Next Gen controls. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Y-axis lathes independently.
- Read, understand, and adjust CNC programs as needed.
- Monitor machine performance, feeds, and cutting parameters.
- Perform threading operations with precision.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
- Ensure product quality and remove defects.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor machine repairs.
- Maintain production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 3+ years of CNC Lathe Machinist experience required.
- Strong knowledge of HAAS Next Gen controls.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience editing CNC programs.
- Strong threading knowledge required.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
- Strong math skills (fractions and measurements).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting as needed.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
