Sales Representative - Fire/Life Safety

AMPAM is a leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) contractor serving large-scale multifamily and commercial projects across California. In June 2026, AMPAM acquired Coastal Fire & Integration Systems (“Coastal”), a San Diego-area provider of fire protection, low-voltage, and life safety systems. This role will join the AMPAM team as a part of our Coastal Fire & Integration Systems acquisition.

The Role

AMPAM Service is seeking a Sales Representative to drive growth of our Low Voltage Division within the San Diego County market. This role is responsible for selling Low Voltage goods and services to both existing AMPAM customers and new prospects, with a focus on fire life safety, test and inspect, remote monitoring, access control and camera systems, and audio visual solutions for multifamily properties. The Sales Representative will identify tenant improvement and system relocation opportunities, sell recurring maintenance and monitoring agreements, and serve as a knowledgeable point of contact who can also speak to AMPAM's broader mechanical, electrical, and plumbing service offerings.

This is a relationship-driven, hunter/farmer hybrid sales role that requires building on AMPAM's existing customer base while actively developing new accounts across the multifamily market.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell Low Voltage goods and services to AMPAM's existing customer base and to newly developed accounts across San Diego County.
• Identify and pursue opportunities in the following service lines:
• Fire life safety systems
• Test and inspect services
• Remote monitoring services
• Access control and camera systems
• Audio visual systems for multifamily customers
• Identify and sell project opportunities including:
• Tenant improvement work, such as relocating fire alarm panels, smoke detectors, and duct detectors driven by customer building or equipment changes
• Installation and relocation of access control and security systems
• Sell maintenance contracts, including test and inspect and fire life safety maintenance agreements, beginning with Edwards systems (EST4) based on current staffing and capability, with additional manufacturer platforms to follow as the team grows.
• Identify and sell remote monitoring contracts to existing and prospective customers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, owners, and other multifamily decision-makers within the assigned territory.
• Learn AMPAM's full service portfolio across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines in order to educate customers on additional ways AMPAM can support their businesses.
• Partner with operations and technical teams to ensure proposals are accurately scoped and deliverable given current staffing and capability.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and customer interactions using AMPAM's CRM/reporting tools.
• Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and growth objectives for the Low Voltage Division.

Qualifications

• Prior sales experience in fire life safety, low voltage, security/access control, or a related building systems field required.
• Ideally, 5+ years of sales experience in this field.
• Working knowledge of fire alarm, access control, camera, and/or remote monitoring systems; familiarity with Edwards systems (EST4) is a plus.
• Experience selling into the multifamily property market preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business while managing and growing existing accounts.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently across a defined territory.
• Willingness to learn AMPAM's broader MEP service offerings and cross-sell where appropriate.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel throughout San Diego County.

Working Conditions

• Based out of the Poway service office, with regular travel to customer sites throughout San Diego County.
• Some flexibility in schedule may be required to accommodate customer availability and project timelines.

The expected hiring pay range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 per year. Actual pay within this range will be determined by the candidate's experience, qualifications, and specific skills.
