Art Director

The Art Director is responsible for leading the creative vision of the Gray Malin brand across all digital platforms while serving as the primary creative behind its execution. This is a highly hands-on role that combines strategic thinking, luxury brand storytelling, digital design expertise, and exceptional creative execution. From concept through final delivery, the Art Director will create and execute elevated, photography-driven campaigns and experiences across email, website, paid media, social, and other digital touchpoints. Working closely with the CMO and Founder, this role will shape and evolve the brand's visual identity while ensuring every customer interaction reflects the joyful and aspirational world of Gray Malin.

• Lead creative direction across all digital touchpoints while maintaining a cohesive, premium Gray Malin aesthetic.
• Elevate and evolve the brand's visual identity across digital channels.
• Develop concepts and designs for:
• Marketing campaigns
• Seasonal product launches
• Brand collaborations
• Landing pages
• Email marketing
• Paid media
• Social media content

• Direct and collaborate on photo and video shoots.
• Develop and align on photoshoot concepts and storyboard mockups with Creative and Marketing team members.
• Ensure visual storytelling aligns with Gray Malin's travel-inspired brand narrative.
• Create polished, photography-led content that reflects a luxury lifestyle aesthetic.
• Leverage AI to develop and refine marketing copy for emails, landing pages, and digital campaigns.

• Maintain and evolve the company's digital design system.
• Oversee:
• Typography
• Color palettes
• Layout grids
• UI styling
• Ensure consistency across web, mobile, email, and social channels.

• Partner closely with:
• Leadership: CEO, COO & CMO
• Ecommerce
• Creative 
• Develop creative work that meets both business objectives and brand standards.
• Support seasonal product launches through cross-functional collaboration.

• Provide creative direction and feedback to:
• Designers
• Retouchers
• Editors
• Freelance creatives
• Manage the V ideo Content Producer and part-time junior graphic designer.
• Ensure freelance contributors deliver high-quality work on schedule.
• Foster collaboration and elevate the overall creative output of the team.

• Oversee creative workflows from concept through execution.
• Ensure projects are:
• Delivered on time
• On brief
• Executed to the highest quality standards
• Improve creative efficiency and reduce revision cycles.
  

• 5-8+ years of experience in:
• Graphic Design
• Art Direction
• Experience within luxury, lifestyle, fashion, or photography-driven brands preferred.
• Experience directing or collaborating on photo shoots is preferred.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating:
• Premium digital design
• Luxury campaign work
• Photography-forward storytelling
• Sophisticated visual design

• Expert proficiency in:
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Figma
• Motion design experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of:
• Web design
• Mobile design
• Social media
• Email marketing best practices

• Exceptional eye for:
• Composition
• Color
• Typography
• Layout
• Strong understanding of luxury branding and visual storytelling.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to clearly explain creative concepts and collaborate across teams.

• Flexible, ideally west coast as it will be California hours. 
• Occasional travel required.
