Finance Director

Salaried/FLSA-Exempt Full Time (40hrs/wk) Position Summary: The Finance Director is responsible for direct supervision of the Finance Department and Income Tax Division; the incumbent is the Chief Financial Officer of City operations. Direct and control all the financial and treasury affairs of the City; managing revenues, expenditures, investments, accounting, budget, debt and financial reporting. Critical Skills Reports on financial matters Certifies availability of funds Prepared the City’s budgets Monitors City payroll Monitors City investments Represents the City on the Property and Liability Insurance Public Entity Pool and also serves as one of the City’s representatives on the health insurance pool Countersigns all debt issuances Negotiates financial and union contracts Experience & Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field and extensive accounting/financial management experience required; considerable accounting/financial management experience in the public sector and considerable supervisory experience preferred.
