The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at our organization is looking for an Assistant Professor of Clinical to become part of the Ob/Gyn Generalists Division. This faculty role encompasses clinical duties within the Department and involves serving as an attending physician, primarily focusing on the care and management of obstetric patients. The Division collaborates closely with allied health professionals, specialists, and subspecialists to deliver a comprehensive range of women's healthcare services.

• Engage in outpatient clinical practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology at our UHealth Clinics (Kendall & Main Campus) and Jackson Memorial ACC clinic for approximately 2-3 days per week; participate in inpatient activities at University of Miami Hospital (GYN call) and Jackson Holtz Women's & Children's Hospital (OB call).

• Contribute to the education and advancement of medical students, residents, and fellows in the "OB/GYN" field.

• Specialty areas include uterine fibroids, sexual health, pelvic pain, vulvar disorders, family planning, preconception counseling, cervical dysplasia, and anal dysplasia.

• Formulate and implement a comprehensive medical treatment plan that addresses biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors.

• Conduct physical assessments of patients in a respectful and logical manner, and prescribe medical treatments and clinical medications.

• Provide consultations for hospitalized patients on the Labor & Delivery service.

• Offer consultations for non-service unit patients via telephone.

• Participate in inpatient Labor & Delivery at Jackson Holtz Women's & Children's Hospital.

• Required to cover 12-hour night/weekend shifts on Labor & Delivery, totaling 4 shifts per month, along with 2 GYN call shifts monthly.

• Collect essential and accurate information through reviewing relevant records and interviewing patients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Report findings to the responsible physician and adhere to policy co-signing.

• Engage in clinical investigations across various domains, including patient-oriented, translational, epidemiologic, behavioral, outcomes, implementation, or health services research.

• Utilize EPIC at UHealth Clinics and Cerner at Jackson Health for documentation, along with Mobile Charge for billing purposes.

• Report any hazardous or unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and inadequacies in supply instrumentation to the appropriate personnel.

• Document all Quality Assurance (QA) incidents, including medication errors, to the responsible physician following departmental guidelines.

• Take initiative to enhance knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education opportunities.

• Make informed decisions regarding interventions based on patient information, preferences, current scientific evidence, and clinical judgment.

• Ensure confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Follow University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.

• MD or DO degree required.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

• Certification in the relevant specialty or field is mandatory.

• Active Florida Medical License and DEA registration required.

• Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

• Eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license is necessary.

• Credentialing will be required.

• A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience is preferred.

• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Skill in analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks under pressure while meeting deadlines.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.

Additionally, faculty members will have the chance for daily interaction and teaching with our 28 residents and medical students. Our department consists of over 30 faculty members and is located at the University of Miami/UHealth and Jackson Health Systems in Miami, which is conveniently accessible. The Jackson Memorial Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital sees approximately 4,000 deliveries annually and features a level 3 NICU staffed by UHealth neonatologists. The Women’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial has been recognized by the Maternal Safety Foundation as both an Accreta Center of Excellence and a VBAC Center of Excellence.
