Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and DeliveryWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFunction as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing continuous care to newborns until their transfer to postpartum.Circulate in the operating room and manage essential newborn care, including administering injections and conducting assessments.Support midwifery clients, private obstetricians, and adult recovery services focusing on substance recovery.Float between postpartum and antepartum units, as well as sister facilities that operate mother/baby departments.Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for staffing and patient care.Patient PopulationsMidwifery clientsPrivate obstetricsAdult Recovery Services for substance recoveryCommunity care clinicsUnit DetailsHigh risk/high volume Labor and Delivery unit with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month.Active management and monitoring using EPIC HARDSTOP and electronic fetal monitoring.Capacity includes 31 delivery rooms and 31 beds.Average daily census of 15 patients.Operates 4 operating rooms.Scheduling is posted every 6 weeks to accommodate unit needs.QualificationsMinimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery with high-risk exposure.New candidates and first-time travelers accepted.Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Availability to work every other weekend and on holidays as necessary.Certifications RequiredBLS (Basic Life Support)NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)Preferred CertificationsACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)AWHONN AdvancedAWHONN IntermediateThis position is ideal for a dedicated professional who thrives in a challenging and dynamic healthcare environment.
