The Hill Summer 2026 Editorial Intern- Washington DC

An editorial Hill internship provides intense exposure to national politics and Congress. Interns will work in a fast, deadline‑driven environment. Interns for The Hill have broken major stories, gaining widespread recognition. Their work has appeared on The Hill website and in print. Duties Editorial intern duties primarily involve writing and reporting. Interns assist reporters and often receive assignments that take them to the Capitol and the halls of Congress. They perform some clerical duties, such as assisting at events hosted by The Hill and supporting reporters with projects. Interns are responsible for their own lodging and travel. The Hill will cover in‑town travel expenses for work assignments, but does not reimburse outside expenses or assume liability for off‑site conduct. Application Process Applicants should familiarize themselves with The Hill before applying. Please include the following: The semester for which you are applying. The beginning and ending dates of your internship. The days of the week you are available. The hours you are available. A resume, cover letter, and information on any academic programs in Washington you are participating in. The summer application deadline is February15. Decisions will be made by the end of February. Compensation Pay: $17.95 per hour.
