Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, with the LCSW working from home but engaged closely with faculty and staff both in-person and virtually to address student needs. Regular operational hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, though dedication to student care may require occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends. The LCSW will respond to urgent mental health situations, providing on-call support when necessary.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, integrating their personal histories, presenting concerns, and identifying potential risk factors.

• Collaborate with students to design and implement individualized treatment plans that effectively address mental health challenges and promote emotional growth.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapies in individual and group sessions.

• Facilitate therapeutic group sessions fostering personal development, emotional regulation, and healthy coping strategies among students.
\n
• Engage in collaborative care with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student mental health.

• Provide crisis intervention services, employing de-escalation tactics and making informed referrals for additional care when necessary.

• Deliver psychoeducation to students and their families to enhance understanding and management of mental health conditions, treatment methods, and available resources.

• Accurately document all student assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes adhering to legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, actively participating in case reviews and development activities to enhance collaborative practice.

• Remain knowledgeable of current laws, regulations, and ethical practices relevant to school-based mental health services.

The primary focus of this role is the student body, which includes children and adolescents facing a spectrum of mental health challenges. The LCSW will engage with students from diverse backgrounds, providing culturally competent care that respects and honors each individual's unique experiences and perspectives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience, ideally within mental health or educational environments.

• Experience in conducting mental health assessments and creating effective treatment strategies.

• Proven ability to deliver individual and group therapy using various therapeutic approaches.

• Proficient in technology, including EHR systems and general computer usage.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in a school setting or with youth populations is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
