Role Summary

We are looking for a Techno-Functional Business Analyst with direct, hands-on experience administering, implementing, or migrating an equity/stock plan management platform such as Shareworks by Morgan Stanley, Certent Equity Management, E*TRADE Equity Edge Online, Global Shares, Carta, or Computershare.

The ideal candidate will have strong equity plan administration knowledge combined with technical fluency to validate system design, data models, integrations, data migration, and functional requirements. This resource will support a project team building or enhancing equity-plan platform capabilities within a banking/financial-services environment.

Functional Expertise Plan Administration

• Strong knowledge of equity award types and their complete lifecycle, including ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, RSAs, PSUs, SARs, and ESPP (qualified 423 / non-qualified).
• Experience with grant, vesting, exercise, release, cancellation, and forfeiture workflows.
• Strong understanding of cap table management, including authorized/outstanding shares, dilution modeling, fully diluted views, and pool reconciliation.
• Experience with ASC 718 / IFRS 2 expense accounting, Section 409A valuation handling, Section 6039 / 3921 / 3922 tax reporting, and SOX controls over equity data.
• Knowledge of multi-jurisdiction tax and withholding, sell-to-cover mechanics, employee mobility, multi-state/cross-border withholding, and W-2/1099 coordination.
• Experience supporting corporate actions such as stock splits, M&A conversions, tender offers, and blackout-period administration.
• Understanding of participant onboarding, vesting communications, exercise/purchase workflows, and 10b5-1 plans.
• Experience with board/committee approval workflows, plan document interpretation, and audit support.

Technical / Systems Expertise

• Direct hands-on experience with at least one major equity plan platform such as Shareworks, Certent, Equity Edge Online, Global Shares, Carta, or Computershare.
• Experience with two or more equity platforms is strongly preferred.
• Experience integrating equity platforms with HRIS systems such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors.
• Experience with payroll feeds for tax withholding, brokerage/transfer-agent APIs, and SSO/identity integrations.
• Strong SQL skills for cap table and transaction extracts, data reconciliation, and reporting.
• Experience with data migration and reconciliation between systems.
• Ability to create or validate custom reports for Board, Finance, and management reporting.
• Experience with at least one full system implementation or migration, including configuration, data conversion, UAT, and cutover.
• Ability to read and validate API specifications, integration designs, and data models without necessarily being a hands-on developer.
• Ability to translate plan-administration requirements into clear functional specifications for engineering teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• CEP (Certified Equity Professional) designation.
• Experience supporting a system replacement or greenfield equity-platform implementation.
• Experience working in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated environments.
• Prior experience translating plan-administration requirements into functional specifications for engineering teams.
• Strong collaboration experience with Engineering, QA, Data, HR, Payroll, Finance, Tax, and Compliance teams.

Suggested Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in equity plan administration is required.

• Experience with HRIS and payroll integrations is required.
• SQL experience for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting is required.
• At least one complete equity-system implementation or migration experience is required.
• Experience with data conversion, UAT, and production cutover is preferred.
• API, integration, and data-model literacy is required.
• Financial-services or banking experience is preferred.
• Greenfield implementation or system-replacement experience is strongly preferred.
• CEP certification is a plus.
