About the Role The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the integrity of our financial operations. This position is responsible for key month-end and year-end close activities, financial analysis, and reporting , while also helping modernize and improve accounting processes within a strong internal controls environment. This role goes beyond traditional accounting responsibilities. You’ll help transform financial processes, identify efficiencies, and partner with business teams to streamline end-to-end workflows that support a growing, innovation-driven organization. What You’ll Do Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close activities Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Draft clear, high-quality financial commentary and explanations of account activity Reconcile intercompany balances with subsidiaries Prepare recurring reports and deliverables for internal stakeholders Accounting Analysis & Technical Support Trace transactions through SAP to identify and resolve issues Clearly explain complex transactions using T-accounts and accounting logic Conduct GAAP research and prepare technical accounting position papers Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors Process Improvement & Transformation Review current accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement Implement enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance Create documentation and standard operating procedures for accounting activities Leverage technology and analytical tools to increase productivity and insight Provide guidance and mentorship to Staff Accountants Lead small projects and cross-functional initiatives Facilitate group training sessions and knowledge sharing across the accounting team Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar, Master’s a plus. 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (including 2+ years in public accounting preferred) Strong understanding of financial accounting and general ledger transactions Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Advanced Excel skills Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and implement process improvements Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Preferred Experience with SAP Familiarity with AI-enabled tools that improve financial analysis and efficiency Why KARL STORZ?
