Position Summary:

Springfield Country Club is seeking a dependable and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely and consistent manner while following recipes, food safety standards, and proper kitchen procedures. This position works closely with the culinary team to support daily restaurant service, banquets, special events, and club functions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
• Assist with food preparation, including chopping, portioning, seasoning, marinating, and other prep work.
• Set up and maintain an organized and properly stocked workstation.
• Prepare food for restaurant service, banquets, weddings, private events, and other club functions.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, temperatures, and presentation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Properly store, label, date, and rotate food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with the Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen team members regarding food preparation and service needs.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
• Minimize food waste by following proper preparation, storage, and portion-control procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
• Support other members of the culinary team as needed to ensure smooth service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred.
• Experience in a restaurant, hotel, country club, banquet, or high-volume food-service environment is a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food quality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry food, supplies, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the kitchen safely.
