Job Duties and Other Information:

• Properly use appropriate floor care equipment as needed
• Burnish or spray buff resilient tile floors to maintain a clean and shiny appearance
• Strip and re-finish resilient tile floors to establish the clean and shiny appearance
• Shampoo carpets
• Deep scrub ceramic tile floors, tile grout and wall bases
• Perform daily preventive maintenance pre-checks on equipment for safety, appropriate usage and general operating condition
• Follow all established and recommended procedures for the safe and effective operation of the following equipment: backpack vacuums, wide-area vacuums, electric pressure washers, rotary floor machines, walk-behind floor burnishers, floor grout machines, wet vacuums, automatic walk-behind floor scrubbers, automatic riding floor scrubbers and canister cleaning systems
• Clean all doors, door glass and door handles on both sides to remove all residue from floor care work
• Clean walls to remove all residue from floor care work
• Perform event set-up requests
• Clean after events and reset space (as needed)

Position-Specific Details: These positions are part of a Career Progression Group (CPG). As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Custodian 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Compensation: Starting rate of pay for a Custodian 1 is $10 and Custodian 2 is $10.70 per hour. There is also an additional $1 Shift Differential and Pay $1 Longevity pay for hours worked only. Rate may be increased depending on applicants' qualifications.
