Trusts & Estates Attorney (Seasoned / Senior-Level)

Location: Sherman Oaks/Hybrid Schedule (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite)

Experience: Seasoned attorney with solid, demonstrated experience in trust & estate law

Firm Type: Boutique trust & estate planning firm serving high-net-worth clients

We’re a small, close-knit Trusts & Estates planning firm seeking an experienced attorney to join our team. Our clients are primarily high-net-worth individuals and families with complex, multi-generational wealth transfer needs. This is an opportunity to do sophisticated planning work with real client contact and autonomy.

What You’ll Do

• Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on comprehensive estate and trust planning strategies
• Draft and structure wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents
• Design tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies, including gifting strategies, GRATs, ILITs, Dynasty Trusts, and other advanced planning vehicles
• Handle trust administration matters, including probate and trust funding
• Work directly with clients, financial advisors, and accountants as part of a coordinated planning team
• Stay current on changes in estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax law

What We’re Looking For

• Solid, demonstrated experience in trusts & estates law
• Trust administration experience
• Active bar admission in California
• Strong technical drafting skills and sound judgment on complex, high stakes matters
• Excellent client-facing communication — comfortable being a trusted advisor, not just a document drafter
• Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and wants ownership over client relationships

Love to Have (Not a Deal Breaker)

• Tax background (LL.M. in Taxation or CPA a plus)
• Charitable giving planning experience (private foundations, CRTs, CLTs, donor-advised funds)
• Business succession planning experience
• Experience working alongside financial advisors, wealth managers, or family offices
• Existing book of business or client referral network
