Facilities Worker I (Two Positions)

Facilities Worker I Position Summary: The Facilities Worker I independently performs a variety of semi‑skilled facilities and systems maintenance functions as well as works under the direction of a journey‑level crafts worker. A significant portion of the assigned work involves roof maintenance and hardscape repairs, and the incumbent may also support other work in the Multicraft shop that does not require oversight of a journey‑level crafts worker. FLSA: Non‑Exempt. Salary Range: $4,250–$5,720 per month (Step 1–Step 16). Responsibilities Perform semi‑skilled facilities maintenance and repair tasks, including roof maintenance and hardscape repairs. Operate applicable tools, equipment, and systems. Follow written instructions and procedures. Perform simple arithmetic calculations. Learn maintenance and repair functions as required. Qualifications and Experience Working knowledge of building and facilities maintenance practices. Minimum 6 months of experience as a trades assistant, laborer, or general facilities maintenance worker. Ability to read and write at an appropriate level and perform simple arithmetic. Strong physical stamina for strenuous manual labor. Required Qualifications Ability to work outdoors and on rooftops conducting maintenance and repairs. Knowledge and experience with remodel tear‑down and set‑up. Experience making simple interior and exterior repairs of buildings and furniture. Ability to maintain records and retrieve data using record‑keeping systems. Ability to prepare standard reports. Ability to evaluate and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Provide excellent customer service and work cooperatively with a diverse campus population. Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment. Preferred Qualifications Ability and willingness to perform asbestos, lead, and mold abatement if given proper training. Ability to pass OSFM certification exams for Fire Extinguisher inspections. Licenses and Certifications Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Conditions of Employment Satisfactory completion of background check.
