Banquet Captain

Edison’s Entertainment Complex is the St. Louis area’s home of GENIUS LEVEL FUN! Built in 2012 and located in Edwardsville, IL, Edison’s features 12 lanes of boutique bowling, a 4,000 sq. ft. laser tag arena newly re-themed and with a second level in August 2017, a 65+ game state-of-the-art arcade,7 event spaces including our newly opened 200+ event center The Outlet. 

Job Description

We are looking for somebody to join our team to continue to cultivate new client relationships as well as maintain our current client list. 

Banquet captain duties include but are not limited to:

• Illinois Serve Safe & BASSET trained
• Properly assist in training staff
• Projects supply needs for each event
• Projects table layout and any additional stagging items and communicates to set up team.
• Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff
• Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events
• Maintains a thorough understanding of event contracts, menus, and operational procedures.
• Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling. Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitation of service areas.
• Room set ups
• Break down and clean event space and set for next event per Edison’s & The Outlet standards.
• Assists other team members as needed or as business dictates. 
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company Team Members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate and help keep high morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
• Strives to create memorable moments for our clients as well as staff.
• Additional duties as assigned by management
• Special projects as needed 

Qualifications

We are looking for a banquet manager to join our team as we grow our new event center as well as maintain events in Edison's. We work with guests that are planning their child's birthday to wedding, wedding receptions and even off site events with major companies planning their 4,000+ staff event. 

• Great conversational skills and Teamwork-oriented
• Positive outlook and outgoing personality
• 2+ years’ experience banquet serving is a must
• 21+
• Tech savvy
• Basic math skills
• Organized and have attention to detail
• Pride yourself on your ability to cultivate relationships with repeat customers
• The ability to multi-task
• Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve
• You MUST have a flexible work schedule, events are majority on the weekends, we also have early morning events and weekdays events.

COMPENSATION:

• Scheduled Top events 
• Salary-$17.00 +Top tier tip share
