Company Description: Port of Subs is expanding into the DMV area and seeking founding members to help establish and grow the brand locally. The first store will open in Laurel, MD, with additional locations planned across select neighborhoods in the region. Early franchise owners will have the opportunity to secure high‑potential sites and influence local market strategy. The growth initiative is led by Dave Liniger, co‑founder of RE/MAX Realty and a highly experienced global franchisor. This expansion offers entrepreneurial candidates a chance to build a presence with a growing national brand. Role Description: The Owner role at Port of Subs DMV is a full‑time, on‑site position based in various locations around the DMV, with responsibility for overall store and business performance. Day‑to‑day tasks include overseeing operations, managing staffing and scheduling, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer service, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The Owner will handle budgeting, financial reporting, and inventory management, as well as local marketing, community outreach, and brand‑building activities. This role also involves implementing franchise guidelines, training team members, and continuously optimizing processes to drive sales growth and profitability. Owners are expected to be hands‑on leaders, present in the store, and actively engaged with customers and the local community. Qualifications: Experience in business ownership, franchise operations, or small business management, with the ability to oversee daily store activities and long‑term planning. Background in hospitality, food service, or retail operations, including familiarity with health, safety, and food‑handling standards. Strong leadership and people‑management skills, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management for diverse teams. Financial acumen, such as budgeting, P&L management, inventory control, and cost optimization to support profitability. Customer‑focused mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and deliver consistent service. Local marketing and community engagement skills, including basic knowledge of digital and social media promotion. Ability to work on‑site full time, adapt to a fast‑paced environment, and handle the physical demands of a restaurant setting. Entrepreneurial drive, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to upholding Port of Subs brand standards.
