The Department of Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, part of Advocate Healthone of the largest non-profit health systems in the United Statesis seeking a fellowship-trained Cornea Specialist to join our growing academic faculty at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. This position offers a balanced academic career combining clinical excellence, teaching, research, and service in a collaborative environment.

• Provide advanced medical and surgical care for corneal and external eye diseases
\n
• Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students in a robust academic training program
\n
• Participate in clinical research, industry-sponsored trials, and scholarly activity with strong institutional support
\n
• Engage in meaningful community and global service initiatives , including international medical missions and care for underserved populations
\n

\n
• Collegial department with 23 faculty and a strong cornea division
\n
• Residency program and fellowships in cornea, retina, glaucoma, oculoplastics, and pediatric ophthalmology
\n
• Regional tertiary referral center serving a large catchment area across the Southeast
\n
• Continued growth with a new free-standing Eye Institute opening in 2026
\n
• Serves as the academic core of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist within Advocate Health
\n

\n
• Medical Degree ( MD or equivalent )
\n
• Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
\n
• Completion of a Surgical Cornea Fellowship
\n
• Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina
\n
• Active DEA license in North Carolina
\n
