MIG Welder

Description McGee Corporation is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have three (3) or more years of MIG welding experience and a strong background working with structural steel, I-beams, and fabricated steel components . This position requires a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Weekend overtime may be required based on production needs. Responsibilities Set up column preparation according to job specifications. Measure punched holes and verify accuracy against engineering drawings. Order required materials from the supply room. Cut and install PVC drainpipe within columns. Install conduit within columns when required. Measure beams to ensure dimensional accuracy. Cope or taper beams according to fabrication drawings. Check plate inventory as needed. Weld web stiffeners to beams. Weld end plates to beams according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders. Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals. Participate in safety meetings and training while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety. Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations. Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of MIG welding experience required. Experience welding structural steel and I-beams is required. Completion of a formal apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent on-the-job training is preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Strong proficiency operating MIG welding equipment and plasma cutting machines. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications. Experience welding steel and aluminum materials preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods while welding and fabricating. Ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and maintain balance throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
