CNC Lathe Machine Operator

As a CNC Lathe Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating Haas and OKUMA machinery to successfully complete production runs. While the environment is a job shop, the focus is on quality over quantity due to the long runs per part. The role requires the ability to read blueprints, change tooling, and conduct inspections using micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC lathe machines, specifically Haas and OKUMA.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure precision in operations.
• Change tooling as needed during production runs.
• Complete quality inspections using micrometers and calipers.
• Ensure parts meet customer requirements by deburring and handling them correctly.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in CNC lathe operations.
• Ability to read calipers, micrometers, indicators, edge finders, and blueprints.
• Basic understanding of CNC controls and cutting tools.
• Mechanical skills to effectively operate and troubleshoot machinery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with CNC programming and Mastercam.
• Knowledge of milling and machining processes.
• Capability to install computerized instructions for machinery operations.

Work Environment:

Join a well-organized and clean machine shop with a dedicated machining department housing 24 CNC machines, predominantly Haas equipment. The position operates on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with current 10-hour shifts from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and potential Saturday shifts if necessary. The team includes 10 Lathe CNC Operators in a collaborative environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00/yr. Paid Vacation Time Paid Holidays + 2 Floating Referral Bonus 401k + Company Match (Durex Industries will match 50% of the employee's first 6% (max 3% company match). We also contribute a 2.5% discretionary contribution based on the employee's base salary.)
