This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven leadership team and play a critical role in shaping the financial future of a business on track for substantial expansion over the next several years.The RoleThe Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic and operational partner to the CEO and executive team, leading all aspects of finance across a complex, vertically integrated business. This includes oversight of financial planning & analysis, accounting, capital strategy, and operational finance across manufacturing, construction/design operations, and property-level performance.This leader will be instrumental in scaling the company from its current revenue base to the next phase of growth, while ensuring strong cash flow management, capital efficiency, and financial discipline.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute short- and long-term financial strategies aligned with company growth objectivesLead enterprise FP&A, forecasting, and scenario modeling in a high-growth environmentOversee cash flow, working capital, and debt structures while maintaining strong internal controlsPartner with executive leadership on capital strategy, including debt financing and equity raisesProvide actionable financial insights to support decision-making, profitability, and capital allocationOperational Finance & Business PerformanceOversee financial performance across a project-based revenue model, including large-scale design-build projectsForecast and track profitability across multiple business lines and contractsPartner with operational leaders to ensure alignment on budgets, costs, and timelinesSupport vendor and lender negotiations to optimize financial outcomesRisk Management & InfrastructureOversee insurance programs across multiple lines (e.g., GL, E&O, workers comp, etc.)Lead bonding strategy and execution in partnership with brokers and lendersEnsure compliance, governance, and risk mitigation across the organizationReporting, Systems & ControlsLead company-wide budgeting processes and deliver accurate financial reporting and variance analysisEstablish KPIs that directly link operational performance to financial outcomesDrive continued adoption and optimization of ERP and business intelligence systemsGrowth & Strategic InitiativesSupport M&A activity from evaluation through integrationDrive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, supply chain strength, and scalabilitySecure and optimize capital sources to support ongoing growthServe as a key external representative of the company within the industryTeam LeadershipBuild, develop, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting organizationFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementDevelop future leaders and support long-term succession planningPosition finance as a true business partner across the organizationQualificationsProven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within a complex, operationally driven real estate environmentStrong expertise in operational finance, cash flow management, and asset-based lendingExperience raising both debt and equity at the company levelTrack record of supporting organizations through significant growth and scaling phasesDeep experience with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI-driven performance managementHands-on, strategic leader with strong communication and executive presenceEducation & CredentialsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field requiredMBA preferredCPA and/or CFA strongly preferredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary: $325,000 - $375,000 (dependent on experience)Bonus up to 20%Equity participationComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits401(k) plan25 vacation days, 12 paid holidays, and 6 sick days Additional DetailsAbility to travel as needed across multiple sites and operations in Southern CaliforniaThis role requires a hands-on leadership approach in a fast-paced, evolving environmentIf you're a strategic finance leader who thrives in scaling businesses and wants to play a meaningful role in solving real-world housing challenges, I'd welcome the opportunity to connect.BenefitsCompetitive salary range of $325,000 - $375,000 - based on experienceHealth benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSAVacation (25 days)Sick time (6 days)Holiday Pay (12 days)Competitive Bonus up to 20% Ownership of company equity401K Retirement Plan
