Director, Policy & Communications
Merck
Merck seeks a Director to lead policy engagement strategies with global public health organizations including Gavi, UNICEF, and WHO. The role involves developing stakeholder plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, and representing the company in multilateral forums to advance vaccine and infectious disease objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engagement strategies with global public health organizations supporting enterprise objectives
- Coordinate company input into position papers and policy instruments from key organizations
- Monitor policy environment and provide briefings on global organization dynamics to leadership
- Represent company in multilateral engagements and support development of related materials
- Drive strategies to maximize engagement impact with trade associations and relevant working groups
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health, administration, or related field
- Master's or professional degree preferred (MPP, MPH, MPA, or MBA)
- Minimum 10 years global vaccines and infectious diseases public policy experience
- Demonstrated strategic thought leadership with global institutions and advocacy organizations
- Ability to work across matrixed teams and influence without formal authority
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences
- Fluent English; fluent French is a bonus; willingness to travel 30% domestically and internationally
