Associate Director, Global Oncology Communications

Associate Director, Global Oncology Communications at Merck leads external communications strategies for the oncology portfolio and pipeline assets. The role manages data milestone communications, regulatory updates, and integrated editorial strategy to enhance company reputation with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated communications for oncology products and Phase 3 pipeline assets, emphasizing data releases and regulatory milestones
- Drive editorial strategy and targeted outreach to raise awareness of late-stage pipeline assets across social and digital channels
- Identify and develop storylines and thought-leadership opportunities showcasing oncology pipeline assets to external stakeholders
- Prepare materials including press releases, social content, and response documents through medical and legal review
- Serve as liaison to advocacy organizations, external experts, news media, and manage agency relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or life sciences
- Minimum five years' communications or public relations experience
- Product communications experience managing data and regulatory milestones
- Deep understanding of biopharmaceutical industry and media landscape
- Strong executive presence, verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with medical/legal review board processes and crisis communications
- Proficiency with social and digital channels
