Job Description
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students and educators in a vibrant K-12 school environment. This contract role offers the chance to make a tangible impact by assisting teachers and fostering a supportive atmosphere for student learning. You'll work 30 hours per week and collaborate closely with staff to provide educational and behavioral support across various grade levels.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to connect with and support students from diverse backgrounds
- Adaptable and flexible when facing new situations in the classroom
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education is an asset
- Must pass required background checks and any district-specific screenings
Key Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
- Support students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and social development
- Help monitor student progress and assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), if applicable
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Supervise students during various activities, including recess, lunch, and classroom transitions
- Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, and families
