Payroll Lead

Title: Payroll Lead / Director of Payroll Industry: Renewable Energy Logistics and Services Responsibilities Manage and direct payroll operations to ensure timely and accurate salary processing, benefits, and deductions. Supervise and develop a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and performance feedback. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including the Prevailing Wage Act. Coordinate with auditors by preparing and supplying necessary payroll documentation. Recommend and implement updates to payroll systems and procedures for improved efficiency. Oversee payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes. Maintain precise records and reports of payroll transactions for internal and external review. Qualifications Must-Have Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including tax compliance and internal controls. Experience with multi-state and union payroll processing. Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a 7-person team. Excellent communication skills for high interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite. Nice-to-Have Experience with Paylocity payroll systems. Background in the energy sector or similar industries.
