TEMPORARY Lead & NON Lead Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator - Antero Reservoir

Temporary Position (9 months or less) Pay: $20 - $21 per hour. Employment starts 04/25/2026 through 10/31/2026. Lead and Non Lead Inspector Positions This posting is for both Lead and Non Lead Inspector positions. Responsibilities – Non Lead Inspector Perform boat inspection and decontamination activities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Antero Reservoir. Work independently or in pairs to inspect boats launching and leaving the reservoir, focusing on invasive species such as zebra/quagga mussels. Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species by distributing printed materials. Attend early/morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required. Receive on-the-job training. Responsibilities – Lead Inspector Perform boat inspection and decontamination activities at Antero Reservoir. Lead and train inspection staff, create schedules, and ensure shift coverage. Collect and verify accurate timekeeping records for payroll purposes. Collaborate with area work lead to resolve staff and customer issues. Recommend hiring/firing decisions to area work lead. Conduct monthly quality-control assessments of inspection station procedures. Maintain data entry accuracy and completeness. Maintain inventory of supplies and perform basic maintenance on equipment. Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species. Attend early/morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required. Minimum Qualifications – Lead Inspector Valid driver license and clean driving record; must use State-owned vehicle. Good driving record and availability for weekends, early mornings, late evenings. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service experience. Reliable, timely and self-motivated. Ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications – Lead Inspector High school diploma. Experience with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, or heavy equipment. Experience with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Access. Minimum Qualifications – Non Lead Inspector Availability for weekends, early mornings, late evenings. Good written and verbal communication skills. Customer service experience desired. Reliable, timely and self-motivated. Ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications – Non Lead Inspector High school diploma. Experience with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, or heavy equipment.
