About the position As a Director in this team your primary responsibility will be ongoing management of the Project Finance loan portfolio, with an emphasis on credit monitoring, analytics and internal reporting. You will have portfolio management responsibilities for a portfolio of project finance loans. This is a leadership position and will require coordination between sector specialists, offshore portfolio support teams, risk management and junior members of the team. About the department This role is a manager of a team that comprises the critical portfolio management and reporting foundation of all lending origination and underwriting activity. Responsibilities Actively manage all facets of the daily operations of the identified portfolio, including but not limited to: Routinely analyze the credit migration trends of the portfolio and individual names; Idea generation for value added cross buy or client opportunities; Quarterly and annual credit reviews; Process amendment and waiver requests, write or review credit modifications, submit to risk and address Q&A, follow-up on the required legal amendments to the documentation until execution; Track compliance of financial covenants and other reporting covenants such as construction/ operating reports, insurance, etc.; Review annual risk rating updates prepared by an administrative support team; Oversee and prepare collateral monitoring reports; Prepare and maintain reports as requested by regulators, rating agencies and other external parties; Maintain various department and industry databases/trackers; Respond to ad hoc internal requests on portfolio composition and exposure; Coordinate and work with offshore portfolio support teams; Diligent and proactive credit monitoring through the review of all covenanted financial and project information (e.g. financial models, Borrower and Adviser operational / construction progress reports) as well as compliance with all regular reporting activities in line with the bank’s policy and procedures; Oversee multiple PMs on a project‑basis to ensure proper training and development to ensure the success of efforts within their remit; Responsible for the accurate internal system processing (Vantage) including GRID, FINAN, TSC, Risk Rater; Interface with relationship managers and sector specialists to ensure an active dialogue on credit trends, challenges and opportunities with individual borrowers; Monitor and identify market developments and proactively manage their potential impact on the portfolio; Support Team Lead and coordinate between Portfolio Management/ Origination in order to ensure timely and accurate response to internal (CAS) and external regulatory controls and audits by providing the required insights, reports and samples and by participating in the dialogue if so requested; Stay up to date on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed, and facilitate accordingly; Implementation of strategic initiatives, including enhancements to the credit monitoring process to improve business efficiency; Identify productivity trends across the Front Office organization and use insights from reporting to create and drive efficient processes and improve productivity; Ensure an excellent level of service and high‑quality output; Implement transformation projects; Coordinate with KYC/CDD team; Manage lending limits and Capital Velocity programs; Qualifications and Competencies BA/BS in finance/economics/accounting/management/engineering (or similar); CFA a plus; Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience specifically within Project Finance; 5‑8 years in TMT, Infrastructure Financing and/or Energy is preferred; At least 2 years of management experience; Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities; Excellent presentation and communication skills; Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities; Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works; Self‑motivated and willing to work in a deal‑oriented and deadline‑driven environment; Experience taking internal credit approval processes from start to finish; Excellent understanding of GAAP accounting statements & principles; Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor; Ability to work under pressure and set the right priorities in a dynamic, challenging, and international environment; Understanding of risks associated with project finance; Knowledge of Legal Documentation; Proficient in MS Excel and Word; Other Case Study including writing sample and a debt modeling test; References; Salary Range $250,000‑300,000 Benefits In addition to comprehensive health benefits, a generous 401k savings plan, and competitive PTO, ING provides a broad array of benefits including adoption, surrogacy, and fertility services; student debt assistance; and subsidies for expenses associated with commuting and fitness.
