Our “can do – will do” attitude is a hallmark of the company philosophy. S.D. Ireland has an opening for a Properties Accountant in our real estate division. This position will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for several properties and related entities. Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements. Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries. Reconcile due to/from between related parties. Prepare or assist in preparing annual budgets. Ensure that companies are in full compliance of all tax reporting requirements. (1099 issuance, sales taxes, etc.) Facilitate payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers and resolving discrepancies. Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records. Coordinate and/or participate in projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor degree in accounting preferred but not required. Prior experience in accounting required. Self‑motivated and reliable with a high degree of responsibility including confidentiality, sense of urgency, and accountability. Knowledge of accounting practices, policies, and procedures. Strong analytical skills and ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
