Accountant / Bookkeeper

About Us The 4×4 Center is a dedicated automotive shop specializing in off-road vehicles and accessories. We’re a small, hands-on team that takes pride in quality work and great customer relationships. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented professional to keep the back office running smoothly. Role Overview This hybrid role supports both the day-to-day administrative operations of the shop and our bookkeeping needs. You’ll work closely with shop leadership to support the continued growth of the business. Responsibilities Human Resources Handle basic HR paperwork and relations with employees (onboarding documents, benefit enrollments) Onboard employees with Health Insurance as needed Manage vacation accruals and record through payroll Manage employee payroll deductions (insurance, parts bills, etc.) Coordinate weekly payroll with our third-party payroll service provider, ensuring accurate and timely submission of each cycle. Manage relationship with 3rd party provider. Bookkeeping & Finance Process cash outs and prepare bank deposits Monthly Bank Statement Reconciliations Transfer sales and inventory transactions from Shop Software into QB. Record and file monthly VT Sales Tax Manage accounts payable and outbound payments to vendors. Validate vendor AP statements at month end. Manage monthly EFT payments Regularly monitor GL to validate postings so financial statements are correctly recorded. Record Assets and Loans AMEX credit card statement reconciliations (match with receipts) Support tax prep by keeping records organized for our accountant Office Administration Order office and shop supplies as needed Provide backup phone coverage as needed Light interaction with customers in a friendly, professional manner Support the owner with general administrative tasks and miscellaneous projects as needed What We’re Looking For Experience with QuickBooks required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working independently in a small business environment Good communication skills — you’ll interact with customers and vendors on occasion Prior experience in an automotive, trade, construction, or small business setting is ideal. Details 30-40 hours per week, with flexible scheduling Mostly on-site requirement, some remote work may be possible Compensation commensurate with experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
