Description

Helps patients by providing service cost information and assistance. Processes inbound calls. Audits charts and insurances. Collects outstanding balances and pre-appointment payments. Triages customer needs. Maintains patient charts with appropriate data entry, insurance information and referrals or prior authorizations. Answers incoming phone calls in a timely manner. Follows PHI security and HIPAA compliance in accordance with federal laws. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Develops knowledge of customer needs and trends to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements. Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• 1 year in a collections or insurance environment
• Experience with scheduling systems is preferred
