Warehouse Operations Manager

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for daily warehouse execution across outbound fulfillment, inbound receiving, inventory control, returns, general property upkeep, and overall floor operations.

This role ensures the warehouse is properly staffed, organized, documented, maintained, and held accountable for meeting daily volume, peak-season demand, and future operational growth.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations across shipping, receiving, inventory, returns, general property upkeep, and floor execution.

• Monitor fulfillment performance, aged orders, shipping service levels, inbound processing, inventory accuracy, returns flow, property condition, and team productivity.

• Ensure warehouse team members properly use all warehouse systems, shipping platforms, scanners, inventory tools, and order management workflows.

• Maintain proper warehouse layout, storage discipline, product flow, and space utilization to support speed, safety, and accuracy.

• Identify operational risks early and escalate staffing gaps, process breakdowns, aging orders, inventory issues, maintenance needs, safety concerns, or service level concerns.

• Support issue resolution with cross-functional teams when warehouse execution, order flow, inventory, or fulfillment accuracy is impacted.

• Develop, document, and maintain SOPs for core warehouse workflows, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns, inventory control, property upkeep, safety, and equipment usage.

• Ensure supervisors, leads, and team members are properly trained, cross-trained, and held accountable to standards for quality, speed, accuracy, safety, and conduct.

• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and corrective action for warehouse team members in partnership with leadership and HR.

• Enforce warehouse safety, security, equipment usage, access control, housekeeping, and incident reporting standards.

• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and compliant warehouse environment, including equipment usage, workstation organization, product handling, property upkeep, and general warehouse condition.

• Monitor general warehouse condition and coordinate basic upkeep or maintenance needs, including cleanliness, lighting, equipment readiness, work areas, doors, docks, storage areas, and common warehouse spaces.

• Reinforce daily structure, communication, and accountability across warehouse departments.

• Review recurring errors, delays, maintenance issues, and process failures, then implement corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of warehouse leadership experience with responsibility for shipping, receiving, inventory, returns, and labor planning preferred.

• Experience managing supervisors, leads, and warehouse team members in a fast paced fulfillment or distribution environment.

• Strong understanding of warehouse systems, shipping platforms, scanners, inventory tools, and order management workflows.

• Ability to read operational data, identify risks early, and take action before issues impact fulfillment performance.

• Strong leadership, communication, follow through, and accountability standards.

• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, organized, and disciplined warehouse environment.

• Must be comfortable working in a hands on warehouse environment and supporting urgent operational needs when required.

• Ecommerce, DTC, or high volume fulfillment experience preferred.
