Proman Skilled Trades is actively seeking  experienced Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics,  focused on  new construction projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional job sites.

If you have hands-on experience with ductwork installation, layout, and field fabrication—or you’re a motivated helper looking to grow your career in the trades—we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities f or Sheet Metal Mechanics

• Install, assemble, and secure  HVAC duct systems , including rectangular, spiral, and round duct
• Read and interpret  blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
• Perform  layout, measurements, and job site coordination
• Install  VAV systems, dampers, diffusers, grilles, and registers
• Handle  hangers, supports, and seismic bracing installation
• Perform  field modifications and fabrication as needed
• Ensure proper  airflow alignment and sealing (SMACNA standards)
• Coordinate with other trades (electrical, plumbing, piping) to avoid conflicts
• Maintain compliance with  safety standards and OSHA regulations

Work includes:

• Overhead duct installation
• Roof-top unit (RTU) connections
• Mechanical room installations
• Sheet metal fitting and sealing
• Retrofit/renovation systems
• Insulated and lined duct systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)
• Lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs regularly
• Work in various environments (heat, cold, tight spaces)
• Stand, kneel, bend, and climb throughout the day
