Intake Counselor - Career Services

Wage: $27.67/ hour Schedule: 8:45AM-4:45PM, Monday- Friday Location: 50 Clinton Ave Suite 400in Hempstead, NY What drives the core purpose of this job: The Intake Counselor assists the Career Counselors in administrative and clerical duties. What are the key responsibilities: Manage paperwork and keep record of customers personal documents Ensure that all registration forms are properly signed and filed Appropriately handle customers personally identifiable information Answers inquiry calls and emails from prospective customers Perform data entry and related clerical work Attend staff webinars, workshops, and training Refer customers to partner agencies based on their individual needs What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role: High school diploma or educational equivalent required. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience required; experience using the One-Stop Operating System (OSOS) preferred. Must have access to automobile and possess valid Driver's License. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
