Inpatient Therapist

The Program Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. The clinical social services provided includes crisis intervention, individual therapy, short and/or long-term family therapy, group therapy, treatment planning and discharge planning. The Program Therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of consumers internal/external support systems.

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood, IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, adults, and their families.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology is REQUIRED. A minimum of two (2) years experience in a behavioral health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills is preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills, with majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population. LPC or LSW REQUIRED. LCPC or LCSW preferred. Primary Source Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations. Trained in psychotherapy techniques providing therapy, training in evidenced based models including CBT, DBT, etc. preferred. Time management and experience completing therapeutic documentation.
