Human Resources Manager

True North Hotel Group is seeking an organized, collaborative, and people-focused Human Resources Manager to support our growing team. This role is responsible for day-to-day Human Resources administration and partners with managers to recruit, develop, and retain exceptional associates across our portfolio. The ideal candidate balances employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and HR operations while creating a positive associate experience and supporting our company culture. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment, Onboarding, & Retention Manage full-cycle recruitment for corporate and hotel positions. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and coordinate the hiring process. Screen applicants, schedule interviews, and facilitate offers. Create recruiting advertisements and employment marketing materials. Coordinate associate recognition programs, service anniversaries, and employee engagement initiatives. Develop internal communications that keep associates informed, engaged, and connected across the organization. Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation. Support a positive candidate and new hire experience. Associate Relations Support and serve as a resource for managers and associates on HR policies and procedures. Assist with associate relations matters while promoting fair and consistent employment practices. Support managers with coaching, performance conversations, and documentation. Help resolve workplace concerns in a timely and professional manner. Assist with workplace investigations while ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance. Performance & Development Coordinate the annual performance review process. Assist managers with performance improvement plans and associate development. Support associate recognition and engagement initiatives. Identify monthly training opportunities that strengthen associate performance. Benefits & Leave Administration Administer associate benefit programs. Coordinate annual open enrollment activities followed by Q&A sessions. Administer leave requests, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation. Maintain accurate benefit and leave records. HR Operations Maintain associate records and HRIS data. Process personnel changes, including promotions, transfers, wage changes, and terminations. Prepare HR reports and assist with workforce metrics. Support payroll by ensuring associate information is accurate and up to date. Assist with policy updates and HR documentation. Ensure new associates are hired within current market wage analysis metrics. Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain personnel files and employment records. Support I-9 compliance and employment documentation. Assist with HR audits and recordkeeping. Promote company policies and best practices. Maintain Associate Handbook and update annually as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Experience with recruiting, associate relations, onboarding, and HR compliance. Hospitality or multi-location experience preferred. Experience with HRIS systems; ADP experience is a plus.
