Novant Health is building a premier Hospital-Based Medicine Institute across the South Carolina region, with a focus on the Hilton Head, and Bluffton markets. We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Hospital Medicine team. What You'll Do

Provide comprehensive inpatient care in collaboration with the Hospital Medicine team

Complete patient evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments

Manage admissions, daily rounding, and discharges with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency

Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans

Order and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory testing, and medications within the scope of practice

Respond to changes in patients' clinical conditions and coordinate escalation of care when appropriate

Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nursing, pharmacy, care management, rehabilitation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team

Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions

Support transitions of care and communication with outpatient providers

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation

Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and hospital-based initiatives

Contribute to the continued growth and development of Hospital Medicine services

Demonstrate a strong commitment to Novant Health's standards for patient-centered care

Experience and Skills

Strong interest in hospital medicine and inpatient clinical care

Ability to manage medically complex adult patients in a fast-paced hospital environment

Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and decision-making skills

Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care responsibilities

Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care

Interest in supporting program growth and clinical improvement initiatives

Previous hospitalist, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, or other inpatient experience preferred

Qualifications

Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Current or eligible South Carolina Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license

Certification appropriate for the patient population and inpatient scope of practice

Current BLS certification

ACLS certification required or obtained within the designated onboarding period

Prescriptive authority and DEA registration as required for the position

Ability to meet Novant Health credentialing and medical staff requirements
