Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTranslates business strategy into work programs and processesMay direct associates and/or team leaders, or directly manage a specialty functionCultivates and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholdersServes as a liaison to leadership and outside audiencesParticipates in message development, delivery and monitoringWorks with department and firm leadership to support issue management communication strategyMay oversee relationships with communications agenciesEffectively interacts with firm's senior management team, as well as with financial advisors and business partnersRepresents the marketing department and/or company at internal and external conferencesEnsures team and individuals have clear objectives that align with department and corporate strategyMay manage resource and staffing needsMay perform human resource management activities including identifying performance problems and approving recommendations for remedial action; evaluating performance; and interviewing and selecting staff.Plans, assigns, monitors, reviews, evaluates and leads the work of assigned staffCoaches and mentors staff, and identifies training needsPerforms other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAdvanced principals of the financial services industry in order to support communication needs at all levelsAdvanced concepts, practices and procedures of marketing and financial services industry regulationsIssues and media impacting the financial services industryOperating standard office equipment's and using required software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint sufficient to create documents, spreadsheets, e-mails and presentationsSkill inAdvanced writing and public speakingLeveraging metrics to achieve objectivesManaging time sufficient to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced work environmentDeveloping strategy including identifying objectives, defining requirements and developing a structure for accomplishing objectives successfullyAbility toManage the team's reputation and promote department servicesRely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsSupport associate development through project counsel and coachingIndependently solve problems and develop innovative solutionsWork productively with all levels of managementRemain current on issues that impact the companyThink quickly and creatively, overcome objection, and react well to deadline pressureWork independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environmentSpeak effectively in front of varied sized groupsWrite and edit the work of others; compose quickly and accuratelyProvide a high level of serviceCommunicate effectively both orally and in writing with individuals at all organizational levelsEducational/Previous Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, business management or related field and a minimum of (6) six years of experience in the media relations or related activities; journalism, broadcast media and/or a public relations agency.
