Neuro Intensive Care Unit Travel Nurse Opportunity

RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

Strong neuro experience, must be two years, no less. Stroke patients is one of their largest patient populations.

Required skills/certs/exp: Minimum years of experience: two years. Traveler experience: unit will not accept first time travelers. Locals accepted/rate difference: yes. Skills: vents, IV start, neuro intensive care unit, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery management, care of ventilated patient, isolation precautions/use of PPE, lumbar drain experience. Strong neuro experience, must be two years, no less. Stroke patients is one of their largest patient populations.

Certs: ACLS, BCLS, NIH. Preferred skills/certs/exp: skills: arterial line management.

Job details: ratios 2:1 (can flex up to 3:1 in high census and nurse must be comfortable with this if needed). Average daily census 11-12. Shift: 36 hours can be offered. Unit will accept 13 weeks! 12 hour nights; 18:45 - 07:15. RTO: 7 days max for Aya auto offer. Call requirement: none. Float requirement: yes. Weekend requirement: every other weekend. Patient diagnoses: we are a comprehensive stroke center. Patient population: strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic [SAH]), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis. Drains used: EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring).

Special procedures/unit details: comprehensive stroke center. Special equipment: EVD, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM and Arctic Sun. Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR. Scheduling type: per the unit needs. Unit orientation: 24.0 hours; 2 days or 2 nights. Scrubs: navy blue & white.
