Remote Bookkeeper

Job Overview

Arctoris, a leading biotechnology company, is seeking a meticulous and organised Remote Bookkeeper to join our growing finance team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission of accelerating drug discovery through robotics, AI, and data science. We are offering this position with both Part-Time and Full-Time options available to suit the right candidate. The successful individual will be responsible for maintaining our financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. This is a fully remote role with a competitive salary of $25 - $35 USD per hour .

Responsibilities

* Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and expense claims in a timely manner.
* Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
* Maintain the general ledger and all supporting financial records.
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
* Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
* Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and regulations.
* Liaise with other departments to resolve financial queries and discrepancies.

Qualifications

* Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
* Strong proficiency in accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks.
* A solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and best accounting practices.
* Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

*Desirable:*
* A relevant qualification (e.g., AAT) or a degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Experience working within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or technology sectors.
* Familiarity with both UK and US accounting standards would be a significant advantage.
