Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This role is within the Urgent Care Department, providing essential support to patients and medical staff in an ambulatory care setting. The position is responsible for maintaining the overall operation of the clinic.

Shift Details

Urgent care hours are from 8 AM to 8 PM. Shifts may vary across different days and hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in collaboration with providers, clinic staff, and management to ensure high-quality care and compliance with operational standards.
• Lead and direct clinic staff to ensure efficient operations across all aspects, including front desk and patient care.
• Maintain medication inventory and supplies not managed by the Warehouse PAR system.
• Conduct necessary quality control checks related to Point of Care tests.
• Document all care and services provided clearly and accurately, fulfilling nursing duties in a timely manner.
• Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the provider clinics.
• Anticipate the needs of providers and staff to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to serve as a resource for patients and fellow clinic staff.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an urgent care setting.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of the nursing process and its application in a clinical environment.
• Familiarity with customer service principles.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols.
• Skills in performing clinical assessments, anticipating patient needs, and conducting specimen collections.
• Proficiency in using clinical equipment and technology.
• Effective oral and written communication abilities.
• Aptitude for multitasking and working independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to collaborate as a team player and provide training when appropriate.
• Solid problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Willingness to seek assistance in challenging situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively, stand, walk, sit, and use their hands for various tasks. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl. The role also requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Additional Information

This position is open to applicants residing at least 100 miles away from the working facility location in Juneau, AK. The agency is responsible for assisting with housing and transportation needs.
