Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for seniors to identify their specific care needs, ensuring a holistic understanding of their mental and emotional states.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a range of therapeutic approaches to assist clients in managing the emotional difficulties associated with aging.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans that address both mental health and other medical needs of elderly clients.

• Provide education to staff and family members on best practices for promoting emotional well-being and enhancing the quality of life for senior residents.

• Offer specialized grief and loss counseling to seniors and their families, focusing on end-of-life issues and coping strategies.

• Implement cognitive stimulation and therapeutic activities aimed at improving memory, cognitive function, and overall mental agility among older adults.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing complex mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders. You will have the opportunity to develop meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients, many of whom will face unique emotional and psychological hurdles linked to their life stages.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.

• Minimum of four years of recent direct experience in geriatric counseling, showcasing a strong understanding of mental health issues in older adults.

• Solid grasp of ethical and legal considerations in geriatric mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation package for this role includes a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus.
