Afterschool Site Coordinator

We’re looking for a passionate, organized, and energetic Afterschool Site Coordinator to lead engaging programs and ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for every child in our care during the 2026-27 school year. This position is based off-site at a local elementary school and is responsible for managing the afterschool program at that specific school location. What You’ll Do Serve as the lead staff member responsible for your assigned school site. Be the primary point of contact for parents, building strong relationships and trust. Lead a dynamic afterschool program that blends fun, learning, and enrichment for school-age children. Plan and implement creative, thematic activities that inspire curiosity and growth. Manage and maintain licensing documentation and children’s records for your site. Supervise and mentor afterschool staff, ensuring they understand and deliver quality program standards. Maintain accurate records including attendance, inventories, and incident reports. Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for children and staff. Communicate regularly with the Afterschool Director about program updates, challenges, and successes. Act as an ambassador for the YMCA’s mission of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Salary & Benefits The pay rate for this position ranges from $19.20- $ 24.50 per hour. This position is part-time, scheduled to work Monday-Friday, 2:30pm - 6:00 pm. Position runs on the local school calendar, but staff are also expected to work holiday care during school vacations. Must have at least 1 years experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting or camping program. Must possess planning and organizational skills, leadership and personnel qualities. Must have or complete prior to active work NJCCIS trainings and NJCCIS “Understanding licensing” Current CPR/ AED & First Aid certifications.
