The Senior SQL Database Administrator provides comprehensive database management support related to the global customer IT environment. This position provides senior Tier II support for all databases and Tier III for all SQL databases, including the Customer Consolidated Database (CCD) and related databases, as well as databases supporting both legacy and modernized client/server and web-based applications. You will support modernized databases and assist with modernization initiatives. The Senior SQL Database Administrator will conduct proactive and reactive monitoring, responding to incidents and alerts generated by database monitoring software integrated within the Enterprise Event Management and Monitoring capability. You will also conduct manual maintenance, deployment, diagnostic health checks, validation, and reporting processes shall be automated, whenever feasible. The Senior SQL Database Administrator will perform routine database tuning, generate performance/usage reports, and apply DoS-authorized patches. You will execute and validate scheduled onsite/offsite backups and restores. Additionally, you will support integration of database service with partner agencies and internal applications, including managing middleware and messaging queues (e.g., Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) infrastructure). You must be able to deploy approved Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) scripts and coordinate customer application releases across all domestic and overseas locations. You will also provide operational support for Oracle engineered systems (Exadata), including standby builds, Secure Shell (SSH) key management, and cloud migration activities. Qualifications
