Teacher Assistant - Mother's Day Out

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate assistant teacher to join our high-energy team! The Mother’s Day Out (MDO) Assistant Teacher will assist the teacher in the 2-year-old classroom and work under the direction of the MDO Coordinator to lead, grow, and direct MDO for pre-K students. Hours This part-time position will be scheduled for approximately 26 hours per week, Monday through Thursday (MDO class days) from 8:30 to 3:15, including prep time during the week. The MDO schedule is aligned with the MISD school year schedule and is not offered during the summer months or winter break. Job Responsibilities Assist children in the fundamentals needed to start kindergarten successfully, including but not limited to colors, numbers, letters, and positive classroom discipline. Maintain a calm, loving, child-centered atmosphere in our classrooms that is conducive to learning. Honor, serve, and show respect to our families, their children, and members of the childcare team. Attend MDO staff/training meetings as required. Maintain required health/safety training credentials. Qualifications Profess Jesus Christ as Savior and lead by His example: in word and deed with biblical teaching A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching a preschool curriculum is preferred Must demonstrate knowledge of the care required for the ages of the children you are working with and be physically able to hold, carry, and lift small children. Must have a genuine heart for children's ministry and care. Will possess the ability to communicate with parents and teachers effectively. Have current CPR and first aid training, and/or be willing to get certified at the time of hire. Must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background screening and drug test.
